Spring is in the air and 2026 has been wonderful so far! For starters, Sabacc for Charity is now officially a 501(c)3 non-profit! That means Sabacc For Charity can now register players online for S4C hosted games with 100% of donations used solely to continue serving players, volunteers, and most importantly all the charities we partner with. We’re united by our shared passion for gaming, cosplaying, charitable giving, and the expansive universe of a galaxy far, far away. We can't wait to see what this year has in store for us and what the future holds. We appreciate all of your support from now until forever.
As a reminder, we still host our monthly meet-ups in downtown Orlando at The Bao Spot on the last weekend of every month! You can find exactly when by following us on our Facebook group, Discord, or our website. These events are completely free to join as we hangout, have fun, grab some delicious food and drinks, and enjoy our time together. We invite everyone to come hangout with us as there’s always room at the table for one more.
Our time spent at MegaCon this year was a blast! It’s a weekend that’s physically demanding but so worth it knowing we’re making an impact and enjoying seeing others happy to play a round of sabacc with new friends. We saw so many familiar faces - from returning players, previous champions, as well as new players - that thoroughly enjoyed learning how to play with our awesome dealers and volunteers. We partnered with the Victim Services Center of Central Florida (VSC) again for the 3rd year in a row and raised $834 over the course of the weekend. VSC was able to talk with over 200+ MegaCon goers and showcase their services to those who might be in need or know someone they could share that information with. To those who are curious, in need of assistance, or simply want to support the cause, please follow this link: https://victimservicecenter.org/

We hosted our 3rd annual Ahsoka Tano cosplay meetup in partnership with AshlaStargazer and we were also able to have Ashley Eckstein join us again herself! We loved every single cosplay, every creative variant we saw, and all of the related Star Wars characters involved with Ahsoka as well. Thank you for joining us for another successful meetup. Climbing that 12ft ladder for the aerial shot is always worth it to see those smiles! Thanks again to Ashla for coordinating it all as well as for inviting Ashley! You’re both MVPs and we sincerely appreciate you bringing the love to our S4C cantina!

S4C events wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers and our prize sponsors! Thank you to our volunteers for being the most amazing crew with everyone sharing your great talents, always jumping in to help, and creating a warm environment for this nerd community. The players that joined us felt welcomed and they loved spending time with us. We all made an impact in our community by spreading the love through a card game…so thank you from the very bottom of our hearts for your assistance, your help with setup & breakdown, and for truly making this an immersive experience. Our prize sponsors have been incredibly generous & encouraging and we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for your support! We would like to thank: Hyperspace Props, Cantina Surplus, Hans Pins, Magic Merch, Project LUNAROCK, and Amrod's Armory for contributing to our biggest event of the year! Also, another happy belated birthday to Raquel from Project Luna Rock! We hope your birthday at MegaCon was a fun one and everyone was happy to contribute to your birthday card.
We have another upcoming event to look forward to during the month of May. Sabacc For Charity is hosting its first ever all-immersive Star Wars gaming and market event in the heart of Florida! Save the date and join us Saturday, May 9th from 4-10PM at The Bao Spot in Downtown Orlando for an in-universe themed meal and drinks with an immersive indoor & outdoor environment and Star Wars cosplayers. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Discord to get updates on this highly anticipated event. Everyone is invited to join us in Star Wars cosplay or simply Batuu Bound as we’d love to see you there!
Keep your eyes peeled because we have yet another event planned for July! Back by popular demand and after a very successful turnout last year…Sabacc For Charity is coming back to Conduit in Winter Park, Florida on Saturday, July 25th! Doors open at 5PM. We are excited to partner again with the Central Florida Coalition for the Homeless for this event and our new Kyber Prize sponsor for this year's World Charity Sabacc Tournament is Multiversal Exports! We are absolutely thrilled to have international partners donating prizes our players are going to love. Last year we had a unique immersive experience, music, themed cocktails and mocktails, and we’re excited to have another fantastic event ahead!

Our World Tournament is off to a great start as well with players across the globe joining us for virtual and in-person events! S4C tournaments have raised over $1,300+ towards numerous charities already and we love to see it! S4C not only celebrates our top-ranked players with trophies and accolades but also recognizes those who actively participate in charity games. We believe that contribution counts, and those who dedicate their time and effort to these noble causes deserve to be rewarded…
The World Sabacc Charity Tournament is now incorporating a Hero's Journey award for individual players who frequent sabacc charity games and donate. Gain a level per attended game and progress through the season - the more games attended, the bigger the bounty! Now deal us in!
In case you missed it, you can catch Jonathan on a live-stream recording of The Legend of the Traveling TARDIS. S4C got to join some Whovians for a chat about our charity events, where to buy and how to play sabacc, and also discussed finding or starting a cantina near you! Space might be a little wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey…but playing sabacc with a great group of friends is out of this world! We are sincerely appreciative to have been invited to join the Traveling Tardis gang to chat about our non-profit and we hope to invite more Whovians to join in on a game soon!

We hope to see you at future tournaments, we look forward to hear more about your own locally hosted events, and we wish everyone the best this season as amazing things are just ahead in this vast galaxy of ours. We’re humbly reminded everyday that we’re making a difference larger than ourselves in our own communities. May the Force be with you!
